ProxySystems’s Web FTP allows you to connect to a FTP server HTTP web interface. This is perfect for me and many other corporate users whose companies have blocked the FTP protocol altogther. Now I can upload and download files to my FTP instead of using the crappy web file manager of my hosting provider. Uploads are easy using their Java based applet although they have the standard form based upload and upload and unzip ferature. And the site itself is secured by 128 bit SSL so that companies cannot block the site using filtering solutions like Websense. Uploads are also done over SSL.
There are also a host of amazing features like :
Copy or move to a 2nd FTP server
Handy to import files to your FTP server, or to export files from your FTP server to another FTP server.
Rename and chmod
Chmod handles directories recursively.
View code with syntax highlighting
PHP functions are linked to the documentation on php.net.
These features are good if you’ve got a website or blog like Wordpress:
Plain text editor
Edit text right from your browser; every time you save the changes the new file is transferred to the FTP server.
HTML editors
Edit HTML a What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) form; there are 3 different editors to choose from.
Code editor
Edit HTML and PHP in an editor with syntax highlighting.
Search for words or phrases
Filter out files based on the filename, last modification time and filesize.
Calculate size
Calculate the size of directories and files.
I am already loving this.
