Ever noticed this with your Motorola MPX 220 or Audiovox SMT 5600 :-
Problem: After you cradle your Windows Mobile based Smartphone, Activesync will connect and synchronize fine but automatically disconnect after 2 or 3 minutes even though the device is cradled. Also did you notice one common thing between the above mentioned devices? They are available through Cingular.
Resolution:
You need to disable Cingular Expressmail’s Push Feature on the Pocket PC.
Go to Start—>More—>XM Settings—>Sync Preferences—>And Uncheck Enable Push
Now when the Smartphone is cradled, Activesync will not disconnect

2Cingular ships all SMT5600 smartphones with Xpressmail on your smartphone. To check if you have Cingular Xpressmail, cradle your device,
goto Tools—>Add/Remove Programs—>and see what is installed on the phone. If an entry is greyed out, that means the software is installed directly on the smartphone and not through the desktop.

3WOW. Thanks SO MUCH. I was having this problem and it was really pissing me off how I couldn’t transfer data from my computer to my phone because I kept getting disconnected after the sync had finished. Thanks again for providing this information, I wouldn’t have figured it out otherwise.
PS. I have a SMT 5600
