I and many others love Microsoft Voice Command for Windows Mobile devices for its accuracy.
But now many of the latest Nokia S60 devices, starting from N70 and N90, support speaker-independent name dialing (SIND) which means that you don’t have to pre-record voice tags anymore [Voice Signal on my old S60 sucks!!]. The spoken feedback is generated with text-to-speech (TTS) technology. What’s more, the voice recognition adapts to your own voice so the more you speak to it, the better it gets.
How I wish Nokia would introduce some apps for the older devices as a bonus for loyal Nokia fans:(

1We do have some applications for older devices, such as:
http://www.nokia.com/mobilesearch
http://www.nokia.com/sensor
http://www.nokia.com/catalogs
And of course, there are some apps available under phone specific pages / support.
But I think we could consider releasing applications for older devices more often.

I have used Microsoft Voice Command on Windows Mobile devices and I must say the accuracy is awesome. The Voice Signal which comes built in on some phones sucks! I think S60 has got a huge collection of softwares except for a good voice recognition program for the older v1.2 devices. Many good programs like Zipman, FEExplorer, Kaspersky Antivirus, Pocket Oxford Dictionary do work on the older devices.

3I have also heard good things about MS Voice Command. I don’t want to (=can’t) comment about the Voice Signal application, but I hope our SIND application in N70, N90 and in future Nokia S60 devices will make you happy…

4Maybe I wont get a new Nokia phone so soon. If you check this old post of mine Graphics card for your mobile phones : Nvidia GoForce 5500, Nokia have released GoForce 5500 for “small devices” such as cell phone. I dont know if Nokia will use them. But whoever does will maybe my next upgrade :). But I would always prefer a S60 phone for the huge collection of freeware and paid softwares which no other platform offers.
