I just signed up for mail2web’s new Live service which allows you to aggregate new emails from other POP3/IMAP mail providers. I setup my Yahoo! account which is POP3 enabled to be pulled. And guess what, it deleted all my emails from my Yahoo! account. I realized this when I got back home from office and tried to download emails from Outlook. I thought it strange to haven’t recieved any email. So I logged into Yahoo! webmail and saw that my mailbox was empty. That’s when I realized what mail2web had done.
Anyway, mail2web should have put a word of caution on the settings/setup page. Luckily, I do have my emails at my home Outlook and the new ones I had already read at work and have already removed my Yahoo! account from the Live service.

1Actually, the system gives a warning before you enter an email account. It also allows you to choose from options which include the ability to leave messages on the original server or delete them from the source account. You must have ignored the instructions and choose the wrong option for your needs.
I think it’s an excellent service.

2I agree it is a wonderful service. I didnt say anything in the negative. The only thing is when you first try to add a new email account, the Terms and Conditions page is brought. The only thing mentioned is the general disclaimer:
“mail2web.com provides this feature ?as is? without any form of guarantee that email will not be lost regardless of reason.” After agreeing I added my Yahoo! POP3 account and that’s it. But today for testing purposes I added a Bluebottle account and it gave me three options
Retrieve new email and mark message a sread
Retrieve new email and delete message
Retireve all email and delete the messages
So I think SoftCom needs to look into this. The options show up for only some POP3 servers!!

3Hi Abdul,
Sorry to hear about this! I feel a bit guilty here since I probably was the instigator and introduced this to you.
Cheers
