Its a pain that with every new release of the Adobe Reader, Adobe doesn’t include a simple bookmarking function.

But thankfully there is a Javascript from O’Reilly which allows you to do just that although with limited functionality. This script works with Acrobat Reader on Windows, Mac, or Linux.

1) Go to http://www.pdfhacks.com/bookmark_page/ and download the script.
2) Extract bookmark_page.js from the zip file to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\Javascripts folder
3) Now the View menu in Acrobat Reader will have four new items related to bookmarks

-Bookmark This page (Shortcut Alt+V+5)
-Go to Bookmark (Shortcut Alt+V+6)
-Remove a Bookmark
-Clear Bookmarks
