I hate the built in Windows XP Add/Remove Program applet. It takes hell of a time to load the Programs and doesn’t show the hidden installed programs. Uninstall Tool is a very good free alternative to that. Here’s what I like about this program:

1) Very small size -128 KB
2) Loads instataneously unlike the Windows applet which takes forever to load
3) Shows hidden install programs [many of which are the built in Windows components]
4) You can delete a program even if the installer fails [like cannot find install.log]
5) You can right click on the program to go to its registry entry, the folder where its installed on the computer and also the program website if available
6) There’s even an instant search option. For example, Office 2003 is listed as Microsoft Office Professional 2003. So even if you search for office, it will list all the programs that contain the word office.

In short, this is an amazing replacement for Add/Remove Programs. I have already switched over to this handy utility.
