1I have been part of the Streamload family since January of 2002. I remember back when I first purchased an account, I loved the service. Friendly, reliable, easy to use, pretty much perfect. I was able to upload all of my music, photos, and hosted web site material onto the servers with ease, and never had a problem accessing it. Now they have come out with the new MediaMax service and it has all gone downhill. They promised us faster servers for quicker uploads, and more features which will help us better organize our accounts. All they have done is ruined something good. The servers are slower than ever, uploads time out almost every time, and files uploaded previous to the new software have mysteriously disappeared. They assure us nothing was lost, but it has been over a month now since I have been able to access some files. They promise people are working around the clock to fix the problems with the switch over, however, no one responds to support e-mails and they just keep dishing out broken promises to fix everything. Only 8 people work for this company, so don’t ever expect much. They have a blog for people to post problems, but are rare to respond to a lot of people, and sometimes even go the length to delete comments from the blog all together so they don’t look bad. Unless something drastic happens and they magically fix everything sometime soon, I would expect that you will be hearing many more negative comments about this unprofessional service. You would be better off buying your own domain and hosting the files on your own web site. I also forgot to mention that the search feature doesn’t even work after a month of them saying they were going to fix it. I receive and host many files, in many directories, and can not find anything because of this. Also, the “Lockers” or tabs that the author was talking about, don’t even work. Out of the thousands of files I have stored in my account, only about 5% show up. In order to be able to stream your audio from the site now, you must select the song from the Music Locker rather than the File manager, but since none of the songs show up, I guess Streaming audio from streamload is gone for now too. They also made downloading and storing messages two totally different things for some reason, which means instead of moving and sorting files directly from your inbox to any directory, you now have to save them to MediaMax, and then move to your desired location. If you are like me and get photo and video submissions every day, it takes twice as long to do now and is a very painful process. They also added an extra screen in between viewing your files and downloading them. You can no longer just click “download” directly from the e-mail, you must click download, and then go to a page to confirm how you want to download the files.

3Same here.
Back in the ’streamload’ days everything was working so perfect. Since the “upgrade” (really is a downgrade) nothing works. Full of problems. Nobody responds to our emails. MediaMax XL doesn’t work at all (tried installing at at three different PC’s all of them with a different problem). FTP Upload doesn’t upload (well, it does, but if you try to upload a single file, you will get it uploaded about 10-20 times, depends when you decide to stop it manually).
Nothing… nothing.. disappointed. I bet that the company will be soon closing off…

7I confirm on the Mediamax XL part. The “synchro” feature is not working since… Fall 2006. And no discussion on that on their blog. Very disappointed.
