Microsoft has added a digital locker to Windows MarketPlace Beta using which customers will be able to purchase and download softwares from several different vendors.

Once a user has created an account, the digital locker will store all his purchases and the licensing information that comes with them. In the situation that a purchased download does not complete, the user can pick up where he left off at a later time. Since the digital locker runs over the web, software can be downloaded to any PC, although licensing restrictions will limit the number of installs. In case someone wants to keep a local copy of the information, Microsoft has also added the option to download a free desktop utility that will track licenses and history.
