This tutorial shows you step by step how to create an Access Point for WiFi on your S60 3rd Edition device like the Nokia N80,N93, etc.
1) Go to Tools —> Settings —> Connection —> Access points.
2) Click on Options.
3) Choose “New Access Point” and select “Use default settings”.
4) In the Connection menu, change the “Data Bearer” option from the default “Packet data” to “Wireless LAN”.
5) Click “WLAN Network Name” (By default it is “Must be defined”), then choose “Search for Network”.
6) The device will search for Wireless access points in your vicinity
7) You should now see all the wireless networks listed, highlight the one you want to use and click “Select”.
8) If your WiFi network has encryption enabled, you should change the “WLAN security mode” to the mode that matches the encryption protocol. i.e. WEP, WPA/WPA2.
9) If you had to follow Step 8 above, change “WLAN security settings” and enter the WEP key
10) Save the new access point clicking “Back”
If you need to manually assign an IP address for the WiFi Access Point, go to Tools—>Settings—>Connection—>Access Point—>”Access Point Name” click Options, Advanced Settings and go into IPv4 Settings where you can enter an static IP address for the phone.
