A new top level domain called
.mobi has been launched for sites that are mobile friendly. One can check any site in the .mobi emulator
here to see how it will look on a mobile device.
This is one good step in the right direction as users will know that they are accessing mobile friendly pages and
can save on huge internet bills. The only requirement is that the phone should be Java enabled.
The .mobi websites will solve most problems mobile users face including:
Poorly formatted pages
Inappropriate or excessive content
Slow access and long load times , leading to costly mobile bills
Difficult logins
Difficult navigation

1Great blog, and it is great to see that you have a mobile-friendly version!
Quick clarification: dotMobi does not require that you have a Java-enabled phone. In fact, the guidelines for the domain are deliberately targetted at a much more basic device in order to be as meaningful as possible (pretty much anything with a WAP 2.0 or XHTML-MP browser).
