Reuters reports that Symbian mobile phone users will still have to wait some time for Skype’s mobile service because of technical hurdles and a lack of suitable handsets. “When we begun developing the mobile phone version we didn’t realize the number of technical obstacles. It is challenging and is taking much longer than expected,” said Skype’s CEO.

Currently it doesn’t matter as a lot of other services like EQO, SoonR, iSkoot and Fring offer mobile clients riding on Skype’s network.
