Nokia PC Suite allows you to take a backup of your SMS, contacts, calendar, etc in your main memory. But many a times, the restore process doesn’t work as expected usually after you upgrade the firmware of your mobile device. In such a case, if you are stuck with an unusable nbf/nfc file, nfcdecode.exe might be able to help you. This freeware software allows you to extract all the individual files inside the Backup files like contacts, calendar, sms, videos, pictures, etc.
