   When reseting the phone it will ask for the phone lock code. The standard nokia loack code for the n80(and possibly the other phones) is ‘12345′

   Are you sure that it’s a hard format not a soft format? My phone hang for unknown reason so i want to hard format so it’ll delete everything and i mean everything i.e. previous softwares installed, phone book etc.

   HI,

   suppose you changed your phone lock code, hard reset it and after this will it ask for the phone lock code ?

   if yes what lock code will work the original (12345) or the new one?

   could someone here please try this with your phone you dont have any problem as you know both the phone codes so may be you can try.

   i have problem as i have forgot the changed phone code and now i m scared to hard resent my phone unless i get to know what lock code will be needed after the hard reset,

   I did the hard reset and it reset the phone but now my phone is buggy. Im from South africa and when you press *100# then it should bring up a pop up box with available credit left on phone but now it just dissapears without showing anything. This happens with all pop up boxes. Tried updating phone software but nothing is working

   my nokia 3660 cant view its message. so i try to do the hard format = green button + 3 + * and on button but nothing happened. but its worked on my nokia 6600. so i try install the “phone memory backup file” for my nokia 6600 on my nokia 3660. as a result my nokia 3660 cant even on. it says ” phone strat-up fail, please contact ur retailer” . its anything that i can do to fix my nokia 3660.

   i heard that you cant do the “3 button” and on trick on nokia 3660.

   @deon: This is a known bug of the most recent firmware so just be patient until Nokia relases the next upgrade :(

    I was updating the system version on my N80 and sudenly it shut off and since then it does not turn on and i contacted many repair authorized center but they dont know how to fix it. Can anybody knows how or knows a place to fix it? Thank you

    This code(2) works very softly but sometimes it display “start up failed contact retailer” so think before using it.

    hi i tried to unlock my n80 but it didnt work, do you have any other ideas please.

    i tried both ways that you suggested.
    im from australia my phone asks for a lock code not security code, i put this code on only when the sim is changed i thought it might be a good idea just incase my phone is lost or stolen, now im facing the problem, how ironic.

    any way if you have any other ideas i would greatly appreciate thanks in advance.

    i just want to ask for some advice on how to fix my n80.. it started by simply loosing its picture whenever i’m flipping it down and up.. it lasts that way for 3 days then it totaly lost its picture.. the phone is fine its just the picture is no longer showing its only having white background ..

    i’ve got blue-tooth messages in my outbox showing “sending”, ive tried to delete it and nothing happens then i tried to move it to drafts, “maybe i could delete it there” but nothing. now i have blank messages in my drafts and the ones in my outbox that i can’t delete.
    how do i get rid of them?

    I have Nokia 2630 and I tried the hard reset “green button” + “3? + “*” +”power button”, but it doesn’t seem to work for me. Do u guys have the same miracle for 2630? Please, am in trouble because my phone starts and switches itself off and restarts again. The message memory is not ready all the time and I can’t call and accept calls as the cell switches itself of.

    When I try to goto my message inbox and other parts of message, it says “Message Storage Memory Not Ready”. I can’t even delete messages. I can’t accept messages.

    To Netsanet,

    I had the exact same problem with my Nokia 2630 with the “Message Storage Memory Not Ready” error. My guess is that the phone has a hard memory limit of 1.0MB for SMS. Once that is reached, the phone went into a loop trying to index all the messages. Delete stuff from your Gallery will NOT help.

    You have to go to
    Menu -> Message -> Delete message -> By folder

    and delete the biggest folder (the whole folder or you can stop after a dozen of so messages are deleted). The trick is that while you cannot access your messages, every so often there is a small window that you CAN delete. You just have to keep trying every 30 sec or so.

    It was easier for me because I just got a new message when the phone crash… every so often “new message” icon came back on for a bit then the phone screen gone white and restart again.

    I figured that when the “New Message” icon appears, I can actually used the “Delete message” function! It sounds crazy but it worked for me.

    It is not very obvious, but you can check your Message memory usage by going to Menu -> Applications -> Options -> Memory status -> Messaging.
    Keep it under 1.0 MB and you should be fine

    Good luck. (and keep your Message count low)

    im wondering if there is any reset password for an n80 memory card as i have been searching everwhere for one when i slide up my n80 it says the memory card box then ive tried pass but it does not work!
    (it could be in letters aswell)but i asked my friend as i had gotten the memroy card of him but i couldn’t find out the passowrd i think it may be in alphabetical or in numbers(you can also do letters as u can do numbers) so please will you find me a working code!

    Great work I was facing the corrupt phone memory problem with my n72, did the *#7370# and after entering the default code 12345 my phone kept showing the Nokia Logo for almost 3 hours. I tried the last thing and removed the battery (even knowing that it can make the device unusable for ever), and After I restarted the phone….huraaaah it was properly working. thanx a lot guys….Cheers

    hey, i have nokia E50, when i turn it on it goes to an application straight away and does not exit from it. it asks for a pin to uninstall it. i tried the usual coded but it didn’t work.

    Why are people going moaning about this breaking their phones? this is a thread about n80’s….

    I have found 8 solutions to fahims problem and 19 for nokos problem.
    Google.

    If the solutions above havent worked for your 6230 ITS PROBABLY BECAUSE YOU HAVE A 6230… Why would you try something thats not even designed for your phone?

    Go googling and keep this thread on n80’s

    For those of you who have a flip model phone that suddenly turns white when you open or use it most of the time it is your flex cable that is starting to have cracks or else.every time you flip open most of these phone there flexcables give it up after a time.
    change the flexcable and you’ll see that 90% of the times you problem will be gone…..

    try using the optional method of reseting.

    1.turn off the mobile
    2.press , and call button(green colour button) together.
    3.turn on ur mobile while keep pressing those keys above.

    trust me it works… :-)
