Nokia has released an updated version (v0.7.1) of the research prototype Mobile Web Server codenamed Raccoon for S60 3rd Edition mobile devices.
Raccoon consists of two parts: a Symbian port of the Apache httpd web server and a “connector” that together with a gateway and appropriate DNS configuration provides a mobile phone with a global name in the operator networks of today.
Major features in this release include:
- Support ?background? running so you can use your phone for other tasks.
- Run and need Python version 1.3.12
- Heap size incremented from 3 to 5 Mb.
- HTTPD root changed to “\Data\Apache” dir because of filesystem limits from new Symbian 9.x platform.
