Google has officially launched a J2ME mobile client for mobile devices that support Java MIDP. You can easily compose, read, and respond to emails/conversations as well as search your inbox, view your attachments (including pictures and PDF files), and click to call your Gmail contacts.
Get it at http://www.google.com/mobile/gmail/ or http://gmail.com/app from your mobile browser.

1I have tried the app and I had problem with my SonyEricsson that I solved later. It looks cool, but at the end I will go back to my Movamail http://movamail.com/
