A lot of users have reportedly faced problems installing Nokia PC Suite (specially the phone drivers) on Windows Vista due to Vista’s User Account Control. There are two approaches to this:
1) Goto Control panel, Search for UAC in the search box and turn off User Account Control altogether which isn’t recomended by Microsoft
2) Open Command Prompt in Administrator mode (Right click and choose Run as Administrator). Type “msiexec /i path to Nokia PC Suite.msi” (without the quotes)
The second method should install Nokia PC Suite just fine
Update: An official update to Nokia PC Suite version 6.83 release 14 has been released that supports Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit. Read more.

1WARNING:
I installed 6.82 rel22(? latest) on Vista RTM, I believe there is no longer UAC problems with the install but when I cut my Inbox messages from my Nokia and pasted them to a NTFS folder they never appeared but they vanished from the phone.

3This worked great for me. But to load PC Suite onto a Vista Computer choose the dial up or manual download.

5I have installed Nokia PC suite 6.8 in my vista based machine but when i try to connect to the internet i keep getting the message ” You don’t have permission to change settings, only administrators have the right to do so”. This happens even when I log in as administrator. What do i need to do to connect to the internet via my phone modem? I’m using a Nokia E60 phone

6What a nightmare! In XP Pro everything was working swimmingly: Blue Soleil Trendnet Dongle and PC Suite. Now I cannot get either the Blue Soleil or the successor IOGear to work properly and cannot get PC Suite to run properly. What was Microsoft thinking?

7i installed it fine, the 6.82 version, but everytime i use the music manager to transfere music across, it crashes
so it sucks, have to wait for a new version to be made to patch vista shit….
other way i got round it, was to use file manager or windows media play sync … both work good…..

8Don’t get you all, you complain that they didn’t release solution yet. Well you have a solution here which should be officially released soon by Nokia. Its not beta soft or something like this its finished. So stop complaining if you want a solution which works completely with Vista than download it if not, wait for the official release soon and stop complaining in the mean time.
You can get the soft here.

10Hi…I’ve got the same problem and I resolved it doing this:
With 7zip I unzipped the PC Suite.exe file, into the new folder (with the name”PC Suite”) I found and install the PCSS.exe and after that I installed the PC Suite.exe that was into the “PC Suite” folder…
Voilá..
I hope that my English was good enough to help you…
