Talkster is a new, unique service in Beta that allows you to make VOIP phone calls from your mobile or desktop computer through a web browser! (-Techcrunch)

The system can make calls to mobile phones, VoIM (voice over Instant Messenger- GTalk, Windows Live), VOIP phones, landline phones and any other SIP service like Gizmo.
After registering for the service, one can manually enter the phone number and email address of your contacts or export them from Outlook, GMail, Yahoo!, etc. Your VoIM contacts must accept your invitation to be included in Talkster.

To access Talkster from your mobile device, point your mobile XHTML browser to m.talkster.com. Log in with your email/phone number and PIN. You can see the status of your email contacts whether they are offline or online and make a call to to their IM or landline/mobile phone number.

A Java based mobile client is expected to be released in 2007. But making phone calls from a mobile browser isn’t such a bad idea after all.
