Because of the Energy Policy Act, daylight saving time is extended by four weeks in 2007 in United States and Canada. To fix this issue in Windows Mobile, Microsoft has published KB923953 which provides updated registry key information for OEM device manufacturers who can use the listing to create an .inf file that is contained in a .cab file. The .cab file can then be installed in Windows Mobile-based devices. But many device manufacturers haven’t yet released this update and it is a pain to manually add the registry information by hand.
Hence, edgeBlog has created a CAB file with the necessary registry information which can be downloaded here

Update: Microsoft has officially released a CAB file for Pocket PC and Smartphone which can be downloaded from here

2One of my readers determined that after you apply the patch, you must manually change your timezone to something else, and then change it back. This forces the phone to re-read the registry. I confirmed this and tested it successfully. If you have used my patch, please change your timezone.
Thanks,
-Bill
