Blackberry has released two new Instant Messaging clients for their mobile devices- AOL Instant Messenger (AIM)and ICQ Instant Messenger. Both the clients offer a desktop like messenger experience from your Blackberry Smartphone but require an IT Policy to be set by your Administrator.
Here are the main features of the mobile instant messengers:
-Access to your Contact List and the ability to add, delete and block contacts
-Real-time delivery and sending of messages, through your BlackBerry data plan, not SMS
-Real-time awareness of which of your contacts are online and ready to chat
-The ability to participate in several chats at once
-Background operation, so you can use other applications on your BlackBerry smartphone and still be notified of new incoming messages or contacts coming online
-Full-colour emoticons
-Auto-login so you’re always connected
-Fully-integrated into the BlackBerry experience
