Port 25 Blog reports that Microsoft’s Windows Media Player team has released a new official plugin for Mozilla Firefox for Windows Vista and XP (both 32-bit and 64-bit Edition) that allows you to use and playback Windows Media Player audio and video multimedia files inside of the Firefox web browser. The plugin supports Windows Media Player versions ranging from 6.4 to the latest 11 and is available for both the X86 and X64 versions of Windows Vista and XP.

The good thing is if you navigate to a Web page that contains Windows Media Player’s embedded ActiveX control, Firefox will allow you to automatically download and install the new plug-in.
