MSMobiles reports that HTC (Hi tech Corporation), the largest manufacturer of Windows Mobile based devices, has decided to offer free Windows Mobile 6.0 OS upgrade for existing HTC Pocket PC/Smartphone users starting from April end at HTC Europe’s Support website. This is in line with Microsoft’s statement earlier this year that there would be no license fees charged to OEMs/Operators for Windows Mobile 6.0 OS upgrades.
HTC S710 will ship one of the first Windows Mobile 6.0 based device to ship while the Windows Mobile 6.0 OS upgrade would be offered for the following devices first followed by other operator branded phones:
HTC Advantage
HTC TyTN
HTC S620
HTC P4350
HTC P3300
So keep visiting HTC’s Europe phone specific support page to check if any upgrade is made available for your model.
