Box.net has released a new, freeware Beta addon for Microsoft Office 2007 and 2003 that allows you to save Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access 2003/2007 documents and files directly to your Box.net acount from a Windows Vista or XP based computer. It can be useful if you are sitting on a public computer and would not like to save anything locally or keep jumping between multiple computers or laptops.

After installation, a “Save to Box.net” button will appear in the toolbar. Upon clicking, you will be prompted for credentials and the files be uploaded to Box.net’s server.
