The bootloader is the very first part of the mobile phone that starts up, and it usually has the capability to enter a reflash mode or various other debug or diagnostic modes.
Boot Loader Extractor is a freeware application that can extract your Windows mobile device’s bootloader. The reason you may want to extract the bootloader before flashing your device ROM or upgrading to a new OS (such as Windows Mobile 6.0) is to have a working copy of your bootloader so that just in case the flash/upgrade fails, you won’t be left with a non usable brick of a device.

1This tool worked. But it has a bug. My XDA atom exec bootloader size is 512K but this tool extracted only 256k.

2Use HexEditor to compare extracted file with the original 512KB bootloader file: the extracted file is same as first half 256k of the original.
