Loki, a free location based toolbar for Windows XP, Windows Mobile devices and Mac OS X based computers (support for Vista is coming soon). Loki is based on Skyhook’s Wireless WiFi Positioning System (WPS) which uses WiFi access points to triangulate a user’s location to determine and publish a user’s latitude/longitude, street, address, zip code, city, state or general geographic area. Loki can also identify your position based on your internet IP address.
Once your location is determined, you can use one of the many following cool features listed below:
Channels: Get location relevant content like Restaurants, Movies, Weather, News, Entertainment
Find Me: If you are in a new place, you can select this option to discover the neighbourhood
Email: Send your location to friends, colleagues and family members.
SMS: Send your location and/or a personal message information to friends, colleagues and family members through SMS text message
GeoTag: With the GeoTag button, you can post your location into any text, field or window that uses your location as key content.
Address: Click the Address button and Loki will highlight every address on the webpage you’re viewing. Move your cursor over the highlighted address, click it and you’ll get instant directions from your current location to that location.
Search Locally: Use the search text box for all your free-text local searches.
Browsing Menu: The Browsing Menu is a quick search and navigation tool that immediately converts content on a webpage into interactive content. Just highlight selected text with your mouse, right-click and select whether you would like instant directions to an address you have highlighted, search for a product locally or tag it with your current location.
Note:Not all the above mentioned features are available in Windows Mobile
