The BBC is collaborating with Microsoft Live Labs Photosynth to create 3D representations of some of the most dramatic, striking and finest buildings in Britain’s architectural history by combining hundreds of different photographs in a series called Your Britain in Pictures. Most of the locations are featured in the new BBC series ‘How We Built Britain’ which explores Britains past through its buildings and the lives lived in and around them spanning one thousand years of British architecture
“Imagine hundreds of photos of the same building being seamlessly stitched together to create an experience where the user can follow their own path zooming in to see the smallest decorative detail or zooming out and panning through 360 to place the building in a wider context.”
You can also take a virtual tour of photos of buildings in other cities such as Venice and Rome at Photosynth Collections.
