Grisoft, the makers of the popular free anti-virus, AVG, has announced a new Mobile Security suite Beta for UIQ3 based Sony Ericsson mobile devices. The beta version of the software is currently compatible with Sony Ericsson P990i, M600i and W950i devices and will be extended to protect additional mobile phones. AVG Mobile Security features anti-virus, anti-spyware and SMS anti-spam to protect against unwanted messages and advertising. It also includes advanced functions such as comprehensive system settings, planning and scanning exceptions that are offered with other AVG products. AVG Mobile Security is continuously updated through a worldwide professional distribution system of more than 10,000 servers, allowing rapid reaction to emerging threats.

A point to note: In Symbian 9.x there is no need for such as an application as a non-Symbian signed application will not have access to system resources.
