FreePops is a POP3 daemon and LUA interpreter with some extra libraries for HTTP and HTML parsing in real time, on-the-fly. The application’s main purpose is to parse and convert POP3 requests to HTTP or HTML format on supported webmail providers & websites in real time. Hence, you can check your webmail such as Yahoo, Windows Live Hotmail, AOL, Lycos or Fastmail in a POP3 client like Outlook/Thunderbird or even read HTML content from your favorite website in your Inbox.
This open source software is extensible through the use of plug-ins, a list of which can be viewed here.
