We were one of the first sites to break news about Plaxo 3.0 Preview Beta earlier last month which is being discussed all over Techmeme today. I would now like to mention some other mobile related services of Plaxo Labs which includes Plaxo Mobile and Plaxo by SMS, both of which are being offered for free currently.

Plaxo Mobile is a WAP based site that allows you to access your address book, calendar, tasks, pulse(RSS feeds), notes and local city’s weather through your mobile phone’s web browser. All you need to do is visit m.plaxo.com from your phone’s xHTML browser and sign in with your Plaxo credentials. The WAP site is designed to be navigated with the help of a cellphone’s keypad.

Another new feature introduced is Plaxo by SMS that lets you quickly look up info from your address book and calendar by sending an SMS to a shotcode by just texting the name of the contact you want to look up. The service is limited to US carriers but if your carrier offers a free email2sms address such as mobilenumber@domain.com, you can still sign up to receive alerts.
