Palringo Beta is a free voice chat/instant messaging software with Walkie-Talkie like Push to Talk (PTT) functionality for Windows Mobile & Nokia S60 based mobile devices and Windows XP/Vista based desktop computers. A Java J2ME version is under development. You can use this application over any GPRS, EDGE, 3G, or Wi-Fi (WLAN) connection.
Once you are signed in, you will see three tabs: Text chatting, Voice chatting (Push to Talk-PTT) and photo messaging. In the first tab, contacts are listed by their name, email address and current availability. To start chatting, simply click on the nickname with whom you want to chat. Under the second tab, you can select a contact, hold down the joystick key, speak and release the key just as you would with a walkie-talkie. The message should be delivered to the recipient almost immediately. From the photo messaging tab, you can capture a picture from the GUI and send it to your contact instantly.

Key Features include:
» Voice: use your mobile to chat with friends by speaking or texting
» Messaging: leave messages even when contacts are not connected
» Availability: Instantly see status of contacts
» Interoperability: Connect to users of popular PC IM systems
» Open: Works independent of your mobile service provider
» Presence and group PTT/Chatting is also supported.
