PortMapper is an intelligent, freeware utility for Windows that can dynamically detect ports requested by any software/program/game installed on the computer in real-time and automatically create forwarding rules for the required ports on the router. The software runs in the background and whenever any program requests connection over a specific port, PortMapper will display a popup and prompt you to create a rule on the router. If you click Yes, a forward rule will be created in the router’s configuration.

The application has its uses in scenarios such as multiplayer gaming and downloading files via Bittorent or P2P.
