University of Haifa has launched a public project called Math4Mobile, a free mathematics application for Java J2ME capable mobile devices such Nokia S60, Sony Ericsson UIQ, Motorola, Blackberry, Palm Treo and Windows Mobile. Math4Mobile is a collection of 5 mobile applications to perform mathematical functions at different levels – from elementary school geometry to high school level calculus. Following modules are available for download:

Graph2Go: It is a special-purpose graphing calculator that operates for given sets of function expressions

Solve2Go: Supports solving equations and inequalities conjectures based on visual thinking. It supports comparisons of two types: Equations and Inequalities.

Sketch2Go: It is a qualitative graphing tool. Graphs are sketched using seven icons representing constant, increasing, and decreasing functions that change at constant, increasing, or decreasing rates.

Fit2Go: It is a linear and quadratic function graphing tool and curve fitter. Students can view a phenomenon, identify variables, conduct experiments and take measurements in order to construct models of the phenomena.

Quad2Go: It is a handy tool for learning about quadrilaterals by generating examples, observing, and experimenting with examples with a view toward forming generalized conjectures.

As you can see, this is a utility with support for basic as well complicated mathematical problems. Mobility has advanced to great heights and students nowadays are fortunate to have such utilites available at their disposable.
