Whoneedsaniphone.com have released an Alpha version of an Apple iPhone-like Flash 2.1 based Application Launcher for Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6 Pocket PC devices.

There are two primary components to the system:

1) Flash .SWF files that provide the graphical interface.

2) A Microsoft .NET Compact Framework application that provides the back end for many of the functions the Flash interface makes use of. This application acts as a mini http server on the device in order to supply information back to the Flash interface via the use of actionscript’s loadVariables function.

Before installing the Launcher, make sure you’ve got Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0 SP1 and Adobe Flash Lite Player 2.1.

a) Download Launcher Alpha
b) Extract the contents of the Zip file to a folder on your desktop computer
c) Create a folder called FUI under \Storage Card\
d) Copy all files from the folder on your desktop to the \Storage Card\FUI folder. It will look like this:

\Storage Card\FUI
\Storage Card\FUI\Wallpaper
\Storage Card\FUI\LauncherIcons

e) To start the iPhone interface on your Windows Mobile device, open File Explorer and launch “FUIServer.EXE” which will automatically launch LAUNCHER.SWF (Flash UI).

f) To create a launcher icon, tap on the “Standard” button at the bottom so that the menu changes to “config”. Then tap on an area in the launcher page where you want the icon to be (4 icons across and 3 down). This will launch the icon configuration and allow you to set up that icon.
