Microsoft has launched a new Windows Live service called Confucius (a part of Windows Live Barcode) that allows you to create QR Codes online from a web browser or using an offline Windows application from your desktop PC. You can then view these codes conviniently on your Windows Mobile Device through the just released barcode reader client or on any other mobile device such as Nokia S60 or Sony Ericsson using a 3rd party reader such as Kaywa
1) To create a free QR code from a business card, URL or plain text, visit confucius.live-int.com
2) To create QR codes from Windows, download the free Desktop QR Code generator here. Desktop QR generator can generate QR Code for any text information, or certain files as v-card, calendar and url.
3) To view these 2D QR codes on your Windows Mobile device , download the free QR Reader client here. (Meant for Dopod devices, not tested on any other Windows Mobile device)

1Really strange… The links don’t work, it comes with a fake Windows Live status on top right - and the domain is not “live.com”. It doesn’t look the real thing.

2Nice to see you here, M Freitas! Which links are not working? Both services are a part of Microsoft- http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=616

3If you visit the Confucius home page none of the links (Home, Settings, About Us, Contact, Privacy) actually exist - they are all dead - no A tag at all.
