Microsoft has removed support for the Bluetooth Dial Up Networking (DUN) Profile from Windows Mobile 6.0 Pocket PC and Smartphone devices. However, if you want share a GPRS, 3G or UMTS internet connection from your WM 6 device to your Windows Vista or Mac OSX desktop or laptop computer, you can utilize the Internet Sharing program available on most Windows Mobile 6.0 devices ( and if I am not mistaken, Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU 3 devices too) in conjunction with the Bluetooth Personal Area Networking (PAN) Profile.
Instructions (for both Windows Vista and Mac OSX 10.4.9):

1) Turn on automatic Bluetooth discovery on your WM 6 device and Windows Vista/Mac OSX computer and pair the device with your computer.
2) Enable Bluetooth PAN on your computer.
-On Windows Vista, if you are using the default Microsoft Bluetooth Stack, there is nothing you need to do.
-On Mac OSX, Enable the Bluetooth PAN port under Network Preferences (Network Port Configurations) by selecting the checkbox.
3) Start the Internet Sharing program on your mobile device (Start>>Accessories>>Internet Sharing).
4) Select Bluetooth PAN as the PC Connection.
5) From the Network Connection list, select the name of the connection that your device uses to connect to the Internet. Press Connect.
6) Set up a Bluetooth Personal Area Network (PAN) on your computer with your mobile device.
-On Windows Vista, Choose Connect To a Network. At the end of the list is “Connect to a Bluetooth personal area network (PAN). Tap that and choose Next. The WM 6 device should be listed. Select it and press Connect.
-On Mac OSX, click on the Bluetooth Icon in the menu bar and select “Join Network on WM 6 Mobile Device” (you might want to enable “Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar”).
7) That’s it. After you’ve finished browsing, go back to the Internet Sharing utility on the Windows Mobile device and choose to Disconnect.

5Hi,
Can you please show me how I can do the reverse?
i.e. Browse on my phone, using my laptop’s 3G EVDO Internet connection.
I use a symbian based OS.

9ICS between WM6.1 and Vista via USB cable works fine, but how to I share that link with my LAN adaptor’s network which maybe on a different subnet? WM6.1 is connected to the internet and I want to share that connection with another PC connected to my local LAN adapter.
