GuidedWays has released a free Zakat calclulator for Java J2ME compatible mobile devices such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Blackberry. Zak?t is an Islamic concept under which Muslims need to pay 2.5% of their wealth to specified categories in society when their annual wealth exceeds a minimum level (Nisab).

The software contains a thorough guide on how to give Zakat, when to give Zakat and who to give Zakat based on the Qu’ran/Koran and Sunnah. It also contains a calculator where you can enter your earnings, cash in hand and other assets to calculate Nisab and Zakat payable.
