LiquidResize is a free content aware image resizing application/utility for Windows and Linux.
Recently, there was a great discussion on a new content aware image resizing technique whitepaper written by Dr. Ariel Shamir and Dr. Shai Avidan from Mitsubishi Electric Research Lab. This technique demonstrated [Youtube video] how images can be resized while keeping the important aspects and features of an image undistorted and seamlessly filling parts of the image which were removed in the process.
LiquidResize is a software based on such algorithm and allows you to resize images by seamlessly carving and removing unwanted parts of an image. In the current version, you can resize both the width and height of images, and also save the result. The utility supports Jpg, Gif, Png, Bmp, Tga, Tiff, and Pcx image formats.
