Adobe has released the public beta of its AIR based Flash Media Player that can play offline and streaming Flash video (FLV) files on your Windows or Mac OSX PC. Adobe media Player allows you to download, save and playback Flash videos locally, not just stream them. Users can subscribe to favorite shows and will automatically receive new episodes as they become available. Shows are delivered as simple RSS feeds, so AMP will automatically download new content as the feeds update.
Last month Adobe had added support for H.264 compatible Blu-Ray and HD-DVD high-definition videos. This feature would be available in the final version of AMP.
Here are some of the key features of Adobe Media Player Beta:

+ Catalog—Discover new Internet TV shows and video podcasts to add to your Favorite Shows.
+ My Favorite Shows—Automatically download new episodes of your favorite Internet TV shows and video podcasts.
+ My New Episodes—Quickly manage and play a list of new episodes from your favorite Internet TV shows and video podcasts.
+ My Saved Videos—Gather and manage your personal collection of Flash videos.
+ FLV on your Desktop—Stream, download, manage, and play rich media content. Double click on any FLV file to play it in AMP.
+ While playing a video clip, the player skin can change to reflect the content
This program requires the latest version of AIR for Windows and Mac OSX installed.
