PhoneTag Elite is a game of tag, that can be played alone or with a group of friends (team) from your mobile device in real-time utilizing real world longitude and latitude co-ordinates from a GPS receiver. Using your mobile phone as a navigational aid, you need to physically move around the streets or parks as displayed on your mobile map while attempting to capture your target and evade your pursuer.

PhoneTag Elite

When a game starts, players will be given a target to capture— another player — that appears on the mobile device screen as a dot on a virtual map. At the same time, the location of the person who is hunting is also displayed in a similiar fashion on others screens’. When players get close to their prey, they have virtually “tag” them by selecting the “capture” option in the game. Each game generally lasts for about four hours.

PhoneTag Elite has two types of game play: standard and team. In both types of play you are placed onto a map specific to your location from where the chase and evasion begins. The creators have also added a Capture-the-flag style gameplay in the single player mode so that you don’t have to run around.
