TripIt is a web based service that can automatically plan, organize and display your travel itinerary in one place from confirmation booking emails that you may get from virtually any online travel. Instead of making you enter all the details like places and times by hand, just forward reservation confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com from your desktop or mobile device email client.

The TripIt “Itinerator” automatically combines your related travel bookings into a single master itinerary. Then the Itinerator searches the Web to add related information, including daily weather, local maps, driving directions, travel guides and more. Once your new itinerary is ready, you will get an email from TripIt with all the details.

You can also customize your itinerary with additional maps and directions, or add notes and Web pages with other information that you’ll need on your trip. You can also Share Itineraries with people who need to know your travel plans, or with fellow travelers who are collaborating on trips with you and even synchronize them into Google or Outlook Calendars using iCal.

Support for native SMS text messaging would be available in the near future.
