“I Want Sandy” is an intelligent web based personal virtual assistant-secretary for your e-mails. The service smartly recognizes basic commands and plain English keywords in e-mail messages and can automatically create to-do lists, tasks, calendar appointments, and meetings in your online calendar based on the timings specified in the message. You can then choose to get reminders via Email or SMS Text messaging.

Other features include tagging your entries, automatically building an address book from emails sent to your contacts, looking up reminders and to-dos based on tag or topic, collaborative reminders with friends and family and scheduling regular and recurring reminders and appointments. All the tasks and items at “I Want Sandy” are created with e-mails.

When you sign up for “I Want Sandy”, you get a unique e-mail address (Sandy’s email) to which you can directly send reminders and appointments to or you can CC or BCC regular e-mail that you send to any contact. Once Sandy receives the email, it will go through the content of the email and try to recognize the keywords such as meeting, remind or remember. Based on that, the service will create a note or calendar entry for you and send you a reminder. For example, if you get a reply to an email (with Sandy CC’d) with a meeting for the 1st of November, Sandy will add it to your calendar and send you a reminder on that date.
