Nokia has released v4.0 of the in-device content search application for select S60 3rd Edition Feature pack 1 mobile devices such as Nokia N76, N95, E51, 5700, 6110, 6121 and 6290. With this version, you can search more categories including contacts, videos, images, music player, calendar, bookmarks, landmarks, notes, messages, emails and applications as well as location aware web based content.

You can either start entering the keyword and see the results immediately in real-time as you type– or just go to a content category to conduct more precise query for only a particular content type. When you click on the search result you are interested in, it will take you to the Details page which gives more information and options for actions to use the results. Other features include media roaming which is used for location based searches and is updated automatically.

If you get errors while installing Nokia Search, restart the phone, then go to the App Manager and look for a file called “Search” that is about 2-3 MB in size. Select the item and then select “Remove” from the Options menu. You also need to remove each of the different plug-ins. which are named “Search-XXXX plug-in.”
