Shape Services, the makers of the popular IM+ instant messaging software for mobile devices, has released a new home surveillance application called Mobiscope with motion detection and remote webcam capabilities for RIM Blackberry and Java J2ME capable mobile devices, completely free of cost. The package consists of a client and server software, with different versions each for Blackberry and generic J2ME mobile devices.
Key features of Mobiscope Beta include:

+ Webcam-recorded video playback right on your mobile
+ Recording startup at motion detection
+ Customized scheduling for recording start/finish
+ Secure webcam access
+ Data transfer encryption
