Where2Talk is a location based service that combines location at-a-glance with the instant calling and presence capabilities of Push ToTalk in one application. The PTT contact list displays who is available and where they’re located.
The Where2Talk service consists of a BREW application on a mobile phone and a PC-based Dispatch Console. The PTT contact list on the mobile phone displays all contacts on the main screen with their city/state location visible at-a-glance. In addition to being able to instantly call individuals and groups, the user can obtain a map of each contact’s location, street address, and directions. Where2Talk’s web-based Dispatch Console enables users to view contacts on a map, see their online availability, select a group based on location, and “Push-to-Talk” them from the PC.
Key features of the Where2talk service include:
From the mobile phone:
+ Mange/view the contact list (Pal List)
+ See who is online and available
+ Make PTT calls to individuals and groups
+ View a contact’s location at-a-glance
+ Obtain a map, street address, and directions for each contact’s location
From the Dispatch Console:
+ See who is online and available
+ View location of all contacts on full color maps
+ Make a PTT call to selected contacts based on where they’re located
+ Dispatch addresses to mobile phones
+ Maintain historical records of workforce locations
The application is available for download through mobile carriers or OEMs only.
