InstaColl, a company co-founded by Sabeer Bhatia, the creator of Hotmail, has released a new plug-in for Live Documents (previously covered here) that enables users to create, edit and synchronize changes in Office 2007 Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents, between a PC and web interface, across multiple OS platforms such as Windows Vista, Mac OSX Leopard or Linux. Live Documents features an add-in for Microsoft Office 2007 that caches data locally and automatically synchronizes changes to the server when you go online.

Key highlights of Live Documents for Office 2007 include:

+ Access your documents on the web or on the desktop. Live Documents can keep your entire document collection in sync across multiple PCs as well as with all of the contacts with whom you have shared your document.

+ Live Documents allows you to control who can view, print, or edit documents. You can also use policies to apply time restrictions to these actions, specify that the actions can only take place at a specific network location, or set the permission to allow access to documents off-line.
