Forum Nokia has released a cool freeware utility called Nokia Energy Profiler for S60 3rd Edition mobile devices to test and monitor the battery usage and consumption of mobile applications in real time. While the software is aimed at developers who would want to do some aggressive testing before releasing applications, it is a boon for end consumers who can use this utility to determine resource hungry, battery draining mobile programs.
You can just leave Nokia Energy Profiler running in the background while executing and running applications. The energy consumption is indicated by a blinking red dot and a histogram/graph on the screen.

Here are the shhortcuts you can use in the program while it is running:
2 = start/stop
5 (hold) = insert marker
7 (hold) = rotate display
8 = show average or instant
* = zoom in x-axis
# = zoom out x-axis
0 = switch views
0 (hold) = enter/exit dual view
up = zoom out y-axis
down = zoom in y-axis
left = scroll left
right = scroll right
After the test is complete, you can export the results in various formats such as Excel CSV format for later analysis.
