Nokia PC Phone

Nokia Beta Labs has released a new application called Nokia PC Phone that allows you to control your Nokia S60 mobile device from IE or Firefox through a Bluetooth or USB connection. You can call, text and manage contacts from your phone. You can also see incoming text messages as popups and answer calls.

The Nokia PC phone is a browser extension/plug-in and it works with Firefox 2.x or Internet Explorer 7.x browsers. After you have connected your phone successfully, you will notice that the software retrieves your cellphone contacts automatically and they appear on your PC screen. Also, the SMS and call logs are imported and stored on your PC.

Key highlights of Nokia PC Phone include:

+ Type and send SMS text messages from your PC QWERTY keyboard.
+ View and search past SMS logs.
+ Make phone calls with a mouse click.
+ Make calls or send a text message when browsing a website that contains phone numbers; also you can store those numbers to your phone’s address book.
+ Accept or reject phone calls on your mobile phone from your desktop.
