Resplendence AntiFreeze is a freeware application for Windows Vista/XP that helps you get out of an unresposive/hung state of the computer without having to reboot the system. Sometimes, when programs consume too much CPU or memory, the computer becomes very sluggish. You may not be even able to use the keyboard, move the mouse or even load the Windows task manager to kill such applications.

This is where AntiFreeze comes into picture. AntiFreeze is a utility with a very small footprint, that sits in the system tray, waiting for you to press the hotkey combination (ALT+CTRL+WIN+HOME by default). As soon as you press the hotkey combination, AntiFreeze will suspend most of the running programs, except the system processes, so that they stop hogging your systems resources. Then it will start a special type of task manager, similiar to the standard Windows task manager except that it is designed for the particular task of letting you get the system in a responsive state again. This AntiFreeze task manager displays the each process with the state, CPU, memory usage and virtual memory size. Using this data, you can choose to terminate the offending process and resume your activities.
