Yahoo! is developing a new mobile unified messaging application called oneConnect Mobile that aims to integrate all communication means such as IM, SMS, email or social networks into your mobile device. All your contact information; email, phone numbers, text, and IM addresses; can be found in one location—your mobile phone.

Here are the key features of Yahoo! oneConnect for Mobile:
Contacts:
It integrates your Yahoo! Address Book, mobile phone and social network contacts into one, easy-to-access place. You’ll be able to view what’s vital about your people—their name, avatar, online availability, recent messages and latest activity—everything you need to know about your people, when you’re mobile.
You can customze the information you want to see—such as their mobile number or IM address and them by location, to connect with the people who are nearest to you.
Conversations:
You can choose the Conversations view to communicate with everyone, seamlessly, via IM or text. With Yahoo! oneConnect, you’ll be able to start, track and archive your conversations, even when you’re mobile. It will let you move seamlessly between text and instant messaging, allowing you to continue your conversation in the most effective way.* IM a friend who’s online, and continue the conversation via text, even if they’ve signed off.

Email:
oneConnect is designed to work with the most popular email services—from Hotmail to Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, or Gmail. See what your friends are up to, then send an email to comment about a new post, photo or status update. It lets you stay up to date on the latest information from your friends with an “in context” email notification that alerts you any time a new email arrives
Status:
Yahoo! oneConnect will give you all the functionality to update your status on your favorite social networks—in one easy step—and automatically broadcast it to your friends. The following social networks are intended to be supported: Bebo, Dopplr, Facebook, Flickr, Friendster, hi5, Last.fm, LinkedIn, MySpace and Twitter. You’ll also be able to view your contacts by their most recent status updates on popular social networks
Pulse:
oneConnect gives you current views of friends’ photos, status and profile updates, based on their most recent actions on popular social networks. For example, you could view a contact’s vacation photos in Flickr,™ or their up-to-the-minute travel plans from Dopplr. Or, see your friends tagged in photos from last night’s party on Facebook®, the minute they’re posted.
