Quetim is a freeware text input method for Java J2ME mobile devices such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola that allows you to quickly and easily write SMS text messages on your mobile device. Quetim is a comparitively faster alternative to write SMS text messages than other predictive text input methods such as Multi-tap, T9 or iTap. It does this by allowing you to type the text message on your desktop PC and then transferring the text to your mobile phone using the built-in camera in the form of QR codes.
Here is an overview on how to write SMS messages using Quetim:
1. Write the SMS text that you want to send at www.Quetim.com. Your text will be encoded into a special matrix code.
2. Capture the image of the matrix code with your mobile phone camera
3. The Quetim application installed on your mobile will recognize the text from the captured photo.
4. The program will then automatically populate the SMS message body with the text extracted from the matrix code which can be sent immediately.
The software is compatible with any MIDP 2.0 capable cellphone with a built-in camera.
