MobiPad is a freeware application that allows you to control applications, programs and games on your mobile phone using Nintendo Wiimote via Bluetooth from a Nokia S60 3rd Edition or Sony Ericsson UIQ3 device, including ones without a keypad (touch screen). Also, if your smartphone has a TV-Out feature, you can connect it to your TV and control the mobile’s screen on a much larger area, allowing for a more comfortable experience.

MobiPad allows you to utilize all keys as well as the d-Pad of the Nintendo Wii Remote for optimal control of any multi-touch mobile program or game, reports Forum Nokia Blog. Also, nowadays, with the popularity of touch screen mobile devices, its become almost impossible to play mobile games that have not been specifically designed for it. This situation is true for most of the currently available Java J2ME mobile games – the keypad does not feature a joystick and the buttons are difficult for gaming due to their two-letter-input method. Using MobiPad, you can play any such mobile game on these type of smartphones, no matter whether they have a QWERTY-keyboard or no keypad at all.

The software’s key mapping is designed for holding the remote crossways in two hands (’GameBoy style’) with the D-Pad facing to the left.

Here is an overview of the key mappings of MobiPad for Nokia S60 and Sony Ericsson mobile devices:
